Funded SEND training available

Book now for fully funded SEND training for primary school support staff.

Aimed at Primary teaching assistants, HLTAs, INAs, learning mentors and those supporting learning in the classroom, the training is being offered by Citywide Alliance Schools Training (CAST) in partnership and funded by ESCC’s ISEND Service for those working in East Sussex state maintained and Church Funded schools.

Delivered by ISEND’s ESBAS and CLASS services, the two half-day session course - combined with an inter-sessional task, aims to develop teaching assistants’ awareness of their role with regards SEND in the teaching environment.  It will give information about the four areas of SEND likely to be found in their classrooms.  Useful, practical strategies and resources will be examined to help Teaching Assistants’ support children to access the curriculum successfully.

Training outcomes are:

  • To make TAs’ aware of schools’ aspirations re SEND in the classroom.
  • To develop TAs’ understanding of differing SEND difficulties and how they affect a child’s ability to access the curriculum.
  • To explore examples of strategies to support differing SENDs

As we anticipate a high demand for this training, we ask schools to book at their earliest convenience. The closing date is Tuesday 12 march, or once capacity is reached. Places are limited to two per school.

Please refer to the course detail sheet for full course information
