Speak Up, Speak Out participation event for students with additional needs (Y7 upwards) - 21 March 2019

An activity day aimed at raising participation/ facilitating dialogue with young people with additional educational needs. Following an enthusiastic response from SENCOs, bookings are now open Heads/ SLT- please prioritise your support for this event by enabling staff to bring students with SEND to the event.

Booking information has been sent to SENCOs and special school head teachers by email.

Through hands on activities and workshops, students will give their views on a range of key themes:

  • transition
  • inclusion
  • community
  • participation

The feedback will inform service developments, develop participation skills and help build a framework for participation at individual, service and strategic level- a key part of the SEND strategy, which will shortly be shared county-wide.

The event is being co-produced with The Able Group, our strategic youth voice group. Students from schools and colleges are invited to showcase an aspect of their participation at individual or school level by arrangement. Health partners and Amaze are also involved.

Our thanks go to Causeway School for providing the venue.

Please contact Helen Frederick for more information if needed, thank you.
