Collection of in-year data for Early Years Foundation Stage, Year 1 Phonics, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 data 2018/19.

Request to all primary schools to supply in-year data for Early Years Foundation Stage, Year 1 Phonics, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Following on from the collection of 2019 targets and in agreement with the Strategic Management Board (SMB), primary schools are now being requested to supply 2019 in-year data forecasts for the end of Early Years Foundation Stage Profile, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. There will be no further in-year data collections after this.

The forecast data we are asking for this year is similar to the 2019 target data that was recently requested. This will ensure that it provides a clear picture of the progress of all pupils, including those who are disadvantaged and those who are recorded as SEN. We will therefore be requesting the following data from all East Sussex primary schools:

Early Years Foundation Stage

  • Number of Children on track to achieve a 'Good Level of Development' by the end of Academic Year 2018/19. (In order to calculate this, the child currently needs to be working within 40-60 months in each of the specified twelve ELGs that comprise a good level of development.)
  • Number of Children eligible for FSM on track to achieve a 'Good Level of Development' by the end of Academic Year 2018/19.
  • Number of Children (SEN) on track to achieve a 'Good Level of Development' by the end of Academic Year 2018/19.
  • Number of children on track to reach individual ELG’s by the end of the year.  (Only the twelve ELG’s that comprise a ‘Good level of Development’ )

Key Stage 1                                          

  • Number of Children in Year 2 on track to be working at the expected standard or better in each of Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
  • Number of Disadvantaged Children in Year 2 on track to be working at the expected standard or better in each of Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
  • Number of Children in Year 2 who are recorded as SEN on track to be working at the expected standard or better in each of Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
  • Number of Children in Year 2 on track to be working at greater depth in each of Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
  • Number of Disadvantaged Children in Year 2 on track to be working at greater depth in each of Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
  • Number of Children in Year 2 who are recorded as SEN on track to be working at greater depth in each of Reading, Writing and Mathematics.

Year 1 Phonics 

  • Number of children on track to meet the expected standard of phonic decoding at the end of Year 1
  • Number of disadvantaged children on track to meet the expected standard of phonic decoding at the end of Year 1
  • Number of children who are recorded as SEN on track to meet the expected standard of phonic decoding at the end of Year 1

Key Stage 2

  • Number of Children in Year 6 on track to reach the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics (combined) and in each of these subjects separately, plus English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling.
  • Number of Disadvantaged Children in Year 6 on track to reach the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics (combined) and in each of these subjects separately, plus in English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling.
  • Number of Children in Year 6 who are recorded as SEN on track to reach the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics (combined) and in each of these subjects separately, plus English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling.
  • Number of Children in Year 6 on track to reach the high standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics (combined) and in each of these subjects separately, plus English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling.
  • Number of Disadvantaged Children in Year 6 on track to reach the high standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics (combined) and in each of these subjects separately, plus English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling.
  • Number of Children in Year 6 who are recorded as SEN on track to reach the high standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics (combined) and in each of these subjects separately, plus English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling.

Please complete the pro-forma 'Primary School In-Year Data Collection Pro-Forma 2018-19.xlsx' with your Year R, 1, 2 and 6 cohorts and relevant in-year data, and return by email to cs.datamanagement@eastsussex.gov.uk by Wednesday 31st January 2019 at the latest.
