DfE have now published the following documents:

This circular describes the process that will be followed to develop a Model Pay Policy for East Sussex maintained schools for 2018/19 and academies that choose to follow East Sussex policies as part of the HR Advisory Service and Complete Pay Service.

On the afternoon of Friday, 14th September 2018, the DfE published the long awaited School Teachers Pay & Conditions Document (STPCD) 2018, the accompanying non-statutory guidance document and some further news on the funding arrangements that go alongside this

Following the consultation on the STRB report and the government’s response, the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Order 2018 has now been laid in Parliament, and the STPCD 2018 is published and available online. It also includes information on the Pay Grant. The links below became available on Friday.

The changes within the STPCD 2018 confirm the amendments to pay (as previously notified to you and are based on:
- 3.5% to the minimum and maximum of the unqualified pay range and main pay range.
- 2% to the minimum and maximum of the upper pay range, leading practitioner pay range and all allowances.
- 1.5% to the minimum and maximum of the leadership pay range.
HR/LA representatives will be meeting with colleagues from our Headteacher Consultation Group on 3rd October 2018 to discuss the East Sussex Model Pay Policy for 2018/19 to include the national pay increases. We will also be consulting with the teaching unions on behalf of all maintained schools.
Academies that choose to use East Sussex policies as part of the HR Advisory Service and Complete Pay will also be included in this process.
The earliest possible date for payment will be with the November 2018 salaries, with backdating to (1 Sept 2018) but this may shift depending how quickly local consultations on the model policy can conclude.
