Menopause awareness for all
  • Are you curious about how the menopause can affect you?
  • Would you like to understand this part of your life, know how to manage it and be confident with your choices?
  • As a team member, manager, friend or colleague, would you value the opportunity to learn and understand more about the menopause as well as how to have honest and supportive conversations?

September is UK Menopause Awareness month.

Currently 78% of staff at ESCC identify as female, and of that number, just under 36% are aged between 45 – 55, the key years for the menopause.

We recently introduced two awareness workshops; one aimed at employees and one aimed at males and females who support, manage or work with someone experiencing this life transition.  These workshops have received amazing feedback, being described as; ‘eye opening’, ‘enlightening’, ‘brilliant’ and ‘informative’, with many saying they learnt more from these workshops than they did from their GP or online.

The workshops are facilitated by a leading voice on women in the workplace, women’s leadership and personal development. Katie Day is a trainer, consultant and coach with decades of experience working around the world supporting organisations on gender diversity, leadership development and CSR. She has a particular interest in supporting women and their colleagues, managers and people close to them, with their health and wellbeing.

Do you want a twilight session at your school? Please email feel.good@eastsussex.gov.uk for cost, options and to book.

Alternatively, to book onto one of the workshops running at our Training Centre in Eastbourne, please visit the East Sussex Learning portal here.
