Promoting the special needs and disability Local Offer to families

The online Local Offer shows what is available for children and young adults age 0 to 25 in East Sussex. All schools, settings and colleges have a responsibility to promote it to families and school staff using the materials provided. Schools have a statutory duty to ensure that they have published their SEN Information Report in line with guidance, so that families can easily access it.

The Local Offer is at . It is promoted through regular posts on the ISEND facebook page  and in the Parent Voice newsletter. It includes information on education, health, care and community services and support. It  gives children, young people and parents opportunites to  feedback so that information and services can be improved.

The Local Offer is  best accessed by families when supported by people who work closely with them. The Local Offer guidance on Czone provides guidance on:

  • How to find the Local Offer
  • How to share it with families and help them give feedback .
  • How to publish your school’s statutory SEN Information Report which is your part of the Local Offer

Please note- posters and business cards aimed at helping you to promote the LO with families will be arriving by courier in September, marked for the attention of the SENCO.

Please use these resources to assist you in supporting children and their families. If you would like to provide feedback, ask a question or arrange a workshop for parents and staff please contact us on the LO email address.
